Using single data point to calculate total price of a product (including Grand Total)

I’m making a wp_cart that uses a couple of simple functions to get the total price of a product including the grand total. It works like a champ! but I’m struggling with one issue.
I have a static function that handles the total price – which I use this code in my function:
function get_price($item_price, $item_qty) {
$price = get_post_meta( $item_id, ‘pricing_total_product’, false );
return $price;

This gets the price set in a post meta for the product and returns it.
I then have this code to display the price:

else {
$price = $price;
wp_die( __(‘There were not enough entries to calculate a total, please try again.’, ‘basic-pricing-manager’) );

The problem here is that for each product, it will output the price it gets from the meta value for the grand total. So in my case it will say the price $20 for the product 1 and $30 for the product 2. How can I instead get the total price for the product 1 and 2 combined, and then add it together and output it in a way that it displays the grand total price?
